About NMOMA
Welcome to New Moon on Monday Astrology ~
My name is Adeline and I’m here to talk about the stars. I fell in love with Astrology like a lot of you did: via Linda Goodman’s “Star Signs” sometime in junior high. I bought that book over and over again over the next six years, lending it out to friends who never wanted to give it back. I wrote the horoscopes for the junior high paper. I got as many books as I could about Astrology, tried to memorize all the traits and sentences cookbook astrologers used to describe signs, found horoscope columns that were always accurate to swear by.
Then, sometime after college and heartbreak and learning how to play the guitar, my friend Eric showed me how to read charts. I was getting super into learning how to use astro.com at the time but nothing clicked until that night. That was many years ago and i’ve been completely engulfed since.
Astrology is not a religion. To me, it’s not even a belief system. I don’t “believe” in Astrology as much as I use it, like a tool. I do believe that it can help other people as much as it’s helped me. My intention here is to help you understand the different colors and rhythms and energies behind Astrology, so that you can start using it too.
Astrology has helped me to understand myself and all the people around me a thousand times better since I began seriously studying in early 2000. It’s taught me to keep in touch with the cycles we all go through, as a world and as individuals. Above all, and maybe most importantly, it’s helped me see a bigger picture than the buzz and doldrums of day-to-day worries and strife, it’s helped me to put things in perspective.
There is a whole other kind of language to Astrology, and the funny symbols and foreign words and charts and numbers tend to turn even the most interested people off. It’s not something most folks can just pick up overnight. But it’s not nearly as hard as it looks at first glance. The more you read about Astrology, the more you begin to apply it to your own world, the more things will come together and start to make sense. It’s not really a process that has an end to it: Astrology keeps unfolding and revealing more and more new information as long as you keep paying attention. That’s one of the fun parts.
I’d mostly like this blog to be a place for people who are interested in learning more about astrology can come and learn. Please, ask questions if you have them! That’s another one of the fun parts. I do personal horoscopes and readings as well, email me at NMOMAstrology@gmail.com.
Happy Stars to All of You ~
