Mars in Leo

18 September 2011

MARS moves into LEO at 6:51 pm (pacific daylight time), after being all washed up in Cancer since the beginning of August.

Mars is a fiery energy, Leo is a fiery sign.  They’re perfectly compatible and that’s going to enable everybody to get all sorts of gumption back.  Fiery energy, vigor and impulse, even some compulsive tendencies.

Mars goes after what it wants.  Mars in Leo is going to have us all showing a bit more bravado.

Wherever Mars is traveling through your chart at any given time is a good place to focus your energy for productive results.  Look to the House where Leo falls in your chart to see where you can most productively put your focus between now and mid-November, when Mars moves into Virgo for an extended, eight month stay.

All the world’s a stage,

The Moon moved into GEMINI at 1:06 am (pacific daylight time).
Gemini is ruled by Mercury, the Messenger.  In mythology, Mercury is a kid who’s always up to tricks.  He’s mischievous.  Mercury’s fast, Mercury can feel like it’s in a million places at once.
This is the energy that rules over the sign of Gemini.  When the Moon (which rules over our general mood) is in Gemini, people get way more curious.  When the Moon’s in Gemini, people start talking.

Venus Action

16 September 2011

Now that the personal planets are mostly through Cancer (Mars is in late Cancer until Sunday night), we’re past this year’s Grand Cardinal Cross - the one that put some stress on our summertime.

But the T-square is still there.  The planets Uranus, Saturn and Pluto are all slower moving planets that will remain in the other cardinal signs (Aries, Libra and Capricorn, respectively) for a long time to come.  So whenever a personal planet crosses into a cardinal sign, it will interact with all of those outer planets, and activate the T-square. Now that it’s Libra season, that’s about to start happening.

Venus was the first to move into Libra this past Tuesday evening.  She’ll be making an opposition to the planet Uranus in Aries overnight tonight and squaring Pluto in Libra on Sunday evening.

Venus has everything to do with the weather when it comes to relationships.  An opposition with the planet Uranus could bring sudden upsets, surprises, or just a simple something new.  The square with Pluto that immediately follows could expose something on the shadow side, or it could just make things that much more intense. Pluto just returned to forward motion too, so it’s extra powerful right now.

Watch what’s going on with your love life stuff. This weekend is sure to bring some revealing moments.   This doesn’t by any means it will be bad - more like a time for turning points.

It’s the time of the season,

Adeline

The Moon moves into TAURUS at 12:25 pm (pacific daylight time).
Taurus is one of the signs ruled by Venus, the goddess of love (Libra is the other one). Think about what you know about Venus:  she’s beauty personified, absolute grace, she’s supposed to be sexy as hell.
This is the energy that rules over the sign of Taurus.  When the Moon is in Taurus, we all get a lot more in touch with our senses. When the Moon’s in Taurus we like our food rich and our sheets clean. When the Moon’s in Taurus, people feel sexier. La Luna will be in Taurus until early Sunday morning.
Cheers!

double cancer, virgo moon + pisces sun, taurus moon, ? rising = good or bad news? my venus and mars are in gem, and his are in cap and pisces, respectively. insights?

It’s almost impossible to determine how any relationship will go based on placements alone.  It’s still a gamble if you have two charts in front of you - just like in a birth chart there will be easy aspects (like trines and sextiles) between the two charts, as well as squares and conjunctions and oppositions.  Some people will thrive on squares and oppositions and get lazy and greedy with trines.  Each person also has their own personal make-up that affects how they approach any relationship in the first place.

Here’s what I can tell you:  You are both Watery/Earthy.  Your Cancer Sun and Ascendant are Water as is his Sun.  Your Moons are in Virgo and Taurus, both earth signs.  That on the surface is great news and says you’ll have a lot in common as far as your basic energy and what you need from life - but don’t forget, he could be a fiery or airy rising sign that relates to others in an impulsive or detached way that would drive your Cancer crazy.

Then again, your Venus in Gemini craves someone who’s super social, and your Mars in Gemini goes after what it wants via communication, so an Airy rising sign might be exactly your type.

His Venus in Capricorn is attracted to natural beauty and simple elegance.  Venus in Capricorn likes things dignified.  This is compatible with your Cancer essence which is homey and feminine and  protective.  Cancer is Capricorn’s opposite sign and opposites often attract.

Then again, your Mars in Gemini squares his Mars in Pisces.  Gemini and Pisces are both mutable signs - adaptable, but sometimes wishy washy.  You may both have similarly understated ways of going after what you want to the point that nobody ever makes the effort and you just go with the flow until it washes out.  Your very verbal Mars in Gemini could become quite frustrated with his vague, non-committal Mars in Pisces, or you could find a way to make them work together.

Just a few ideas.  You can’t write someone off as good news or bad news based on their birth chart (most of the time - give yourself a few years of studying charts and you’ll start to have a waaaaay better idea of what works for you, on an individual level).  But you can compare and contrast certain basic things and look at how they might be manifesting so far in your relationship.

Hope that helps!

Venus in Libra

14 September 2011

Venus moved into LIBRA at 7:40 pm (pacific daylight time)

Venus has been in Virgo for about a month - raising everybody’s standards and bringing out the picky side when it comes to what we’re attracted to.

Venus is very happy in Libra - a sign she rules.  Venus in Libra is quite polite. Like Venus in Virgo, Venus in Libra wants everything just so.  But Venus in Libra has to have it be pretty on top of that.  Venus in Libra is very, very social.  Venus in Libra loves to chat.

Watch your manners for the next month, and make sure to put on your prettiest face. Smile and behave ~

Horoscopes for September 12-18, 2011

NEW MOON ON MONDAY ASTROLOGY

By Adeline Leigh

The week starts out pretty, with the Full Moon in Pisces that happened overnight last night just beginning to separate.  Stop and reconsider any major intuition or insight you’ve gained in the past 24 hours, it’s probably pointing to something big.  Mercury in Virgo trines Jupiter in Taurus on Wednesday evening, keeping the steady vibe of the Grand Earth Trine going just before Venus leaves Virgo for Libra, one of her two hometown signs.  Pluto returns to forward motion on Friday morning, after spending five months in Retrograde.  Pluto, the slow moving planet that’s all about power and true transformation, has everything to do with our current astrological climate.  Stationing direct, Pluto might be showing us some hard cold realities and where we have to face them.  But the weekend stays rich; Venus getting up to plenty of action will be distracting us all with the love stuff.  Get yourself some good times but remember, we’ll all be better off in the long run the more we can remember everybody else involved.  Sunday night: Mars moves into Leo – prepare to get some of your bravado back.

ARIES

Keep your feet on the ground.  The more effort you’ve made, the more rewards you’re about to see.  Watch for situations that have been brewing to come to the surface, and make sure you’re in a place to confront whatever you must.  Being prepared is as easy as taking stock of how you’ve changed and where you want to keep improving.  Tuesday and Wednesday are the perfect days to initiate conversations about all the things you want to get started. Mars moving into Leo over the weekend will be setting some projects in motion.

TAURUS

Keep it calm, cool and collected.  Any intense transition you’re going through this week is simply showing you where you need to adjust your perception.  Right now, your best option is being objective.  Take some time off to step back and look at the whole forest as well as the facts.  Friday and Saturday are perfect for getting back out into the world.  Look for connections with people who’ve gone through something similar – chances are their example can show you everything you need to feel that much more secure.

GEMINI

This week has fantastic potential, but it’s up to you to keep moving in the right direction and checking things off of your to-do list.  It’s as easy as ever to procrastinate with friends or even just Facebook, but the more effort you make right now, the more it’s going to pay off.  Pay attention to what opportunities pop up via the people you’re talking to and also pay attention to the details for clues about what you might be missing.  You’re about to realize just how much you gain from being grounded.

CANCER

You’re feeling good about where you’re making changes, and you should be.  Last night’s Full Moon brought some memories back with a vengeance, but why not look at how far you’ve come, instead of getting all sentimental about it.  It’s another good week for being out and about – people will be craving your energy all over the place, and you’ll be helping them with each individual conversation.  Mars leaves your sign for Leo on Sunday – give yourself some time out for resting and you’ll immediately feel like you’ve got more breathing room.

LEO

Keep digging.  You’re  trying to get to the root of certain superficial situations, to see what they might be showing you.  This week, you’ve got what it takes to initiate conversations that help you understand things at the gut level you’ve been hoping for.  Venus moving into a friendly Air sign brings opportunities to connect with those you’re closest to.  The more you start talking to whoever you’ve been thinking about, the more you’ll see some serendipity.  Mars moves in for a three week stay on Sunday – you’re about to be all sorts of invigorated.

VIRGO

Hopefully you’re feeling lucky, not just restless.  Virgo has a reputation for being discerning to the point of perfectionistic, but this is the time to opt on the positive side of every single encounter.  Give the people around you the benefit of the doubt and you’ll find some gold you weren’t even looking for.  Once your closest relationships get that boost it will be easier than usual to put one foot in front of the other.  Even better, you’re liable to make some profitable new connections.  Next week: all the space you need.

LIBRA

Your Venus ruler comes home Wednesday night for a three-week visit, and brings some action right along with her.  Watch for secrets and surprises to start spilling out all over the place, and be prepared for some major revelations.  You’re being given the opportunity to open up new lines of communication in an important situation – all you have to remember is that you’re completely capable of doing so.  You’ve learned a lot about yourself in the past two years, and you know it’s given you the advantage.  Now’s the time to prove that to the rest of us.

SCORPIO

Last weekend’s adventures put something in motion. Now’s the time to get creative and take whatever steps you must to keep it going.  Any way you can express yourself right now is about to pay off in big dividends, especially when it comes to your closest relationships.  Your Pluto ruler returns to forward motion Friday, helping you to get your drive back.  Don’t slack on anything you’re trying to build for yourself and the results could be overwhelming in a good way.  The weekend is perfect for sitting back to take it all in.

SAGITTARIUS

The more you can keep some perspective about your current situation, the more you’ll be able to make the most of it.  You’re about to realize just how much you deserve all the good things you’re striving for in a way that’s never made so much sense.  Get out into the world as much as possible this week, but take Sunday off to get back in touch with yourself.  That’s where you’ll see just how much all the things that are just now beginning to manifest came from something you’ve always believed in.

CAPRICORN

Something over the weekend put you back in touch with your people.  You’ll be talking to all sorts for the next few days, and there’s definitely the possibility of some super sweet connections.  The trick is in paying attention to absolutely everyone, even when they don’t seem so sexy.  You’re about to see potential in places you never thought possible.  As Pluto returns to forward motion in your sign and planets in Taurus and Virgo support you, you’re enabled to find exactly the right team you need to support your cause.

AQUARIUS

Go deeper.  Ask for more.  This is the week to really understand what you’re looking for.  Watch for where you might be acting contrary just to keep your side strong and make the choice to create space for whatever’s coming next.   This is especially true in your closest relationships, where you could be seeing brand new circumstances or even a surprise about-face.  Mars entering your opposite sign at the end of the week brings a chapter that’s a lot about projection.  The more you understand yourself, the better you’ll be able to deal with the opposite side.

PISCES

You’re getting used to some methods and motives you’ve been setting in place since late last March.  Meeting your own needs first has been helping you relate to the people around you in a way that keeps everybody happier.  Even better, it’s helping all of your relationships stand that much more sincere.  Don’t be afraid this week to take any conversations you’re having with your people to an even deeper level.   You’re about to stumble upon something absolutely instrumental that makes those connections more solid than ever before.

Repost: About Transits

Your chart is a map of where each of the planets were at the moment you were born.  It’s stationary, it never changes.  Think of it like a clock - each of the planets on your birth chart is like a number on a clock. As the planets now  travel around that clock, they come into contact with those planets - just like the hands on a clock point to different numbers.

“Transits” are the contacts that the planets make to your personal chart as they move through the signs.

Some of the planets move so fast they go around your entire chart in one year. Others are so slow (like Pluto) they won’t even travel around half of your birth chart in an average lifetime.  The Moon moves fast enough that it gets completely around your chart in about a month.  Using the clock analogy - the Moon is like a “seconds” hand, the other personal planets like the minutes hand, etc.

The slowest moving planets transit your chart for months or even years at a time. Outer planet transits are like eras.

Jupiter and Saturn are a bit faster moving than the farthest out there planets. Jupiter spends about a year in each sign, Saturn about two. Transits from these planets are like chapters.

The fastest moving planets transit for a couple of days or even just the day.  Inner planet transits are more like moods.

Let’s say you’re having a Pluto transit, Pluto trine Mercury.  It’s going to be affecting you for over two years.  During this time you’re also in school (Mercury) and doing a ton of hard core research (Pluto).  That’s the era.  There’s also a six-month period   where Saturn will be squaring your Sun.  You run up against a few challenges during those six months:  your research proves nothing, you hate your professor, you start doubting (Saturn) yourself (Sun) all over the place.  That’s a chapter within the era.  A year goes by and all of a sudden Saturn is trine your Mars and you’ve got more energy (Mars) than you thought possible to put toward study and discipline and getting things right (Saturn): that’s another chapter.

During every chapter you have days where you feel great, and days where you’re not quite so on.  Mercury runs into your Venus and there’s crushes to be found all over the place.  Mars hits your Moon and you’re all sorts of pissed off.  The Moon runs into Saturn and you’re so lonely.  Mars finds your Venus and it’s totally Spring Fever all over again.  Those are moods, they go up and down from moment to moment.

Astrologers use transits to shape your horoscope, a picture of what energies will be affecting you the most during a specific period of time.  A Weather Report. I’m doing weather reports for $25 until September 30.  A personalized horoscope for the next three months, written just for you, a Weather Report can help you figure out what era you’re in - as well as what chapters might be coming up within that era.  I’ll also throw in some dates of inner planet transits that tell you what days are better for being out and about, what days are better for getting things done, and when you’ll be most focused on the love stuff.  More about readings HERE.

Happy Stars!

Mercury in Virgo

Oracle of the Radiant Sun

9 September 2011

Mercury moved into Virgo last night at 10:59 pm (pacific daylight time) - for the second time this year.  Mercury turned retrograde about a month ago in the first degrees of Virgo, and now that he’s returning to that territory, we’re out of shadow phase.

Mercury in Virgo is methodical. It’s all about systems and order, and perfectionism too.  People are going to be picky. It’s time to mind the details, maybe even get a little OCD.  Especially about anything that has to do with your health or your work.

Mercury’s moving super fast right now and will only be in Virgo for the next couple of weeks.  That’s a short stay in his hometown sign, so make the most of it.  By late November, he’ll be back up to that retrograde business all over again.

Keep it orderly!

Adeline

ps:  the above card from the Oracle of the Radiant Sun deck (which i just now discovered and am so excited about)  is actually for the Moon in Virgo, but I couldn’t resist.  Mind the glyphs!  xo
