The MOON moves into ARIES at 5:51 pm (pacific standard time).
Aries goes first.  It’s fire and spark and impulse and action.  Aries moves, and Aries moves fast.
Aries rules the 1st House of Self.  Aries takes action toward individuating, and becoming more independent.
When the Moon’s in Aries, the Mood gets more active. When the Moon’s in Aries, people move.
~
Right now, the planet Uranus is in Aries - so every time the Moon is in Aries, the two make a conjunction, and things get even more independent.  The Moon will hook up with Aries later this evening (at 7:10 pm pacific standard time).
**
The Moon stays in each sign for about two and a half days.  The Moon will remain in Aries until Tuesday morning, when it moves into Taurus, the second sign.

Stormy Weather

3 December 2011

The Moon gets to Aries this evening, but there’s already some aggression in the air. With the Sun still within range of its square to Mars and Mercury’s on the way tomorrow afternoon - the tension’s been building since the weekend began.  Add the static from Mercury Retrograde in Sagittarius and one long Moon Void in the fog of Pisces and you get more frustration all over the place.  Oh yeah, and it’s almost the Full Moon. During Eclipse season.

I’d say that’s good weather for going to the movies and checking errands off the list - stuff you can do on your own. It’s a good day to hang with yourself for a while.

Watch out for road rage, and know that things will feel way more stable by Tuesday afernoon.  In the meantime - watch for things to start heating up on the social side of things as soon as tonight.

Hold Fast,

Adeline

Moon Void Ahead

2 December 2011

The Moon in Pisces will be going VOID this morning at 10:06 am (pacific standard time) until tomorrow evening at 5:51 pm (pst).

That’s an almost 32 hour stretch of Moon Void - and Mercury is Retrograde.

This is weather where things don’t go as planned.  It’s way too easy to get lost in the fog, details disappear, fundamentals get forgotten.

Take some time off between now and Saturday night.  Save the important stuff for Sunday as much as you can.  Don’t waste energy on places where you can’t focus.

The Sun and Mercury Square Mars

1 December 2011

The Sun will square Mars early tomorrow morning (at 5:08 am pacific daylight time), and Mercury will do the same on Sunday afternoon (3:19 pm pst).

Squares are challenges, they’re like getting cornered.  But they can also be the very best of opportunities.  Squares force changes, and lots of the time those changes are exactly what is right.

Squares are considered “hard” aspects, as opposed to trines, which are considered “easy” or more positive.  But people with more squares than trines in their own birth chart tend to get more things done.  They’re more driven, more ready to face the challenges as they come up.  People with too many trines tend to just let things happen.

The Sun in Sagittarius wants to push things farther.  Mars in Virgo wants to get things right.  There are plenty of ways this could turn out a good thing, with a little work.

(And Venus in Capricorn thinks that’s totally sexy… )

Back to business,

Adeline

1 December 2011
The Moon moved into Pisces at 6:45 am (pacific daylight time).
Pisces is the 12th and last sign, associated with the 12th and last house.  Pisces is associated with endings and resolutions - but also with the unconscious and the things that are buried in the back yard.
Pisces (the mutable water sign) is ruled by Neptune, the God of the Sea. Pisces can feel infinite. It washes over you.
When the Moon’s in Pisces - people pick up on things. It’s breakthrough weather.

Venus conjunct Pluto

30 November 2011

Venus runs smack into Pluto in Capricorn early tomorrow morning (5:50 am pacific standard time).

This meeting typically happens about once a year, depending on how fast Venus is going, and she’s been steadily speeding up for a few months now. The last time this conjunction happened was in late February of 2011 - but it won’t happen again until early 2013.

Venus is attraction and love and values and grace.  Pluto is shadow and power and complete transformation.  Venus and Pluto in combination can bring shadowy love, powerful attraction, transformative values, or grace in a shady situation.  And those are just a few of the possibilities.

In Capricorn, this combination has everything to do with achieving ambitions. Watch out for being attracted to someone just because of where they might be able to get you.

Just remember, Pluto’s dark.  Relationships are pretty intense right now.

Then again, that could be a good thing.

Since it’s Tuesday, let’s talk about Mars…

If you think of the planets as archetypes, as characters in a movie or a play - Mars is the macho guy.  He’s the strong buff warrior, he’s male to the max.  The universal symbol for “man” is the same as the glyph for Mars:

Mars rules Aries, the first sign, and the 1st House of Self.  Mars is me me me.  Mars knows what it wants and sets out to get it.  Mars is energy and muscles and super fast cars.  Mars is anger and sharp things and sex drive and blood.  Mars is impulsive, Mars moves.

Mars typically spends about two months in each sign* and takes about two years to complete a tour of the zodiac.  Mars is pure energy, gumption, motivation.  If you focus your energy wherever Mars is travelling through your chart at any given time, you’re sure to get the good results.

Mars is slower than the rest of the personal planets, but it’s still a personal planet. Where Mars is in your birth chart shows not only where you tend to put your energy, but also how you go about getting the things you desire.  Mars in combination with other planets in your birth chart can bring conflict, but also enormous drive and spark.  Ie.  if you have Mars conjunct your Moon in your birth chart, you might have incredibly impulsive emotions, or angry emotions.  If you have Mars trine Jupiter you might have infinite reserves of energy to use toward building your own personal empire.

Again, Mars in a personal birth chart shows how a person goes about getting what they want.  Venus attracts, Mars courts.  It also shows what kind of temper you have.

Here are some absolutely oversimplified ways Mars might manifest through the signs:

In ARIES, Mars has an impulsive temper and tends to show off to get what it wants.

In TAURUS, Mars is slow and steady and subtle - but doesn’t let go until it gets what it wants.

In GEMINI, Mars has more of an intellectual temperament and uses wit and intellect to get what it wants.

In CANCER, Mars has a subdued temper, it protects and cares for what it wants.

In LEO, Mars has a dramatic temperament and is beyond generous with what it wants.

In VIRGO, Mars is careful.  It tries to make things perfect for what it wants.

In LIBRA, Mars has a balanced temperament and becomes the perfect match for what what it wants in order to get it.

In SCORPIO (or in close aspect to Pluto), Mars is intense and probing. It finds out absolutely everything about what it wants, and then devises a scheme to get it.

In SAGITTARIUS (or in close aspect to Jupiter), Mars is enthusiastic, it makes big moves.

In CAPRICORN (or in close aspect to Saturn), Mars is ambitious and works to get what it wants.

In AQUARIUS (or in close aspect to the planet Uranus), Mars is kind of a contrarian. It does whatever it wants to get what it wants (and lots of the time, it works).

In PISCES (or in close aspect to Neptune), Mars seems to have a weaker temperament, but it can also have enormous spiritual energy and drive.  Mars in Pisces morphs into the thing it wants.

*Mars is currently in Virgo for an overextended, 8 month stay (due to a retrograde that begins in mid-January).  Mars Retrogrades only once every couple of years and, for me at least, it always seems more noticeable than when other planets Retrograde.  Keep your eyes out.  Venus, too, only retrogrades every couple of years and will be doing so in the Spring of 2012.

The MOON moves into AQUARIUS at 11:02 pm (pacific standard time).
Aquarius is the 11th sign, so it’s associated with the 11th House.  That’s the House of friendships and associations, hopes and wishes.  It’s the parlor, where all your entertaining’s done.  In true Aquarius fashion, that entertaining would be friends from all different walks of life, including the weird and the wacky. Aquarius wants everybody to get along, Aquarius believes in Utopia.
When the Moon’s in Aquarius, the mood veers Left.

Horoscopes for November 28 – December 4, 2011

NEW MOON ON MONDAY ASTROLOGY by Adeline Leigh

GENERAL FORECAST: Things remain intense out there, thanks to Venus hooking up with Pluto in Capricorn midweek. That’s a combination that can spell jealousy, powerful flings, and old lovers coming back from the dead. Venus and Pluto hook up like this about once a year, bringing significant shifts to the plot – especially where relationships are concerned. Their last conjunction in Capricorn was in early February of 2011. What about your love life has completely transformed since then?  … Pluto action typically prefers to remain covert and in the shadows, but things will stay testy through the weekend with both the Sun and Mercury squaring Mars, a planet that’s all about confrontation. People will be getting cornered, and with all of the planets involved in mutable signs (the Sun and Mercury are in Sagittarius and Mars is in Virgo) – they might be switching sides to avoid a fight. Mercury Retrograde only adds to the confusion. Next week: the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Gemini.

***If you know your Rising Sign and Moon signs, be sure to read for those too!

ARIES You’ll be feeling the urge to prove yourself all week long - just remember what you’ve learned about compromise. Right now, it’s just as much about working with other people as it is about winning the game. That’s as true in your personal life as it is in your outside world. Watch for things you typically avoid dealing with in close relationships to rise up and demand some attention. If you can adjust some of your expectations and keep your confidence, you might surprise yourself with how well you’ve learned to keep your cool.

TAURUS Get to the root of what it is you want. This week your desires are on overdrive and you’re ready to do whatever work it takes to get them. But make sure you’re focusing your energy on things you truly value and not just passing fancies. In other words, be careful what you wish for. Jupiter is preparing to return to forward motion in your sign by the end of the month and any seeds you’re planting now will be sprouting faster than beanstalks in early 2012. Take steps toward the things you know for sure.

GEMINI Fightin’ Words. Watch out for confrontations all over the place as your Mercury ruler corners Mars the warrior for the second time this fall. Think back to conflicts that erupted for you at the end of last month, and look for clues as to how they might be resurfacing. The good news is, this time around, both sides have more of the ability to compromise. That said, know what you’re proposing in any situation, and be prepared to deal with the consequences. Next Week, the Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse in your sign brings everything to a climax.

CANCER Fake it til you make it. This week is bookended with opportunities to push your social side and do whatever you can to get involved with other people no matter what you’re feeling. That’s the number one thing that will help you get past any negative emotions. That said, the Moon’s tour of Pisces on Thursday could have you accessing the deep stuff and your moods could be tumultuous. Believe it or not, putting yourself back out into the world for the weekend is the best way to work through the situation.

LEO Your Sun ruler’s meeting with Mercury over the weekend is keeping you busy to say the least. But chances are, you’re running low on patience. Remember you’ll get way more out of your packed schedule if you can find ways to enjoy it. Make the intention to put a creative spin on even the most mundane of situations and you’ll lighten up faster than you think. You’re in a place right now where you can shape the mood all around you in a way that makes things absolutely better for everyone involved.

VIRGO There’s definitely a good side to the situation. As much as it seems like you’re retracing your steps in some very hard work you’ve been doing for a while now – it’s about to help you discover some epic possibilities you might have missed before. Keep your mind as open as possible and use the energy you’re feeling to move forward and be productive, rather than wasting it on futile debates. Even if there’s something holding you back, there are still things you can do right now to persuade it to move out of the way.

LIBRA Your Venus ruler hits on Pluto and Mars for the weekend. This could manifest for you in any number of ways – and all of them are the kind of circumstances that affect you way down deep. Catch up with how you’re really feeling, and do your best to make peace with any shadows you’ve been trying to push away before they come back to haunt you. You’ve got more power than you normally put out there, and now’s the time to go ahead and use it – as long as it’s in a way that benefits everybody’s best interest, including your own.

SCORPIO Time to put on the brakes, in a good way. Venus visiting your Pluto ruler is bringing plenty of lovely distractions, but quite possibly a big dose of laziness as well. Take all the advantage you can, but don’t let anything important slide in the meantime. You’ve been making some serious strides in areas that mean the world to you and you don’t want to get behind on your progress before Jupiter (the planet that’s all about expansion) turns Direct in your opposite sign on Christmas Day. You’re about to see the payoff, stay on top of things.

SAGITTARIUS What comes is better than what came before. Maybe you’re using the current climate to get all tangled up in memories that make you feel more melancholy than motivated. With your Jupiter ruler and Mercury in your sign both retrograde, that’s completely understandable. But don’t let it ruin your birthday season. There’s plenty of energy for you to access now, but with the wrong mindset, it could fire back at you in all the wrong ways. This week, make the effort to push outward instead of in. You’ll be back to yourself (or even better) by the end of the year.

CAPRICORN Don’t be afraid to stop and smell the roses. You’re starting to make some very serious connections between things you might have thought were just fantasy and the concrete plans you’ve been making for years. The more space you give yourself to appreciate what’s happening, the more synchronicity you’ll be able to find. You’re feeling the big push to keep climbing, but next week will be way better for taking action. Right now it’s more about stepping back to appreciate what you’ve already got. You’ll soon see it’s even better than you already knew.

AQUARIUS Two steps forward, one step back. Things aren’t going as fast as you’d like them to right now. The biggest problem is that you can’t quite see where they’re going. Use this week to continue making whatever improvements in your life you’ve already been working on. You’re in the very last stages of packing, in a way, and it’s important to be as prepared as possible by next week, when your ruling planet, Uranus, returns to forward motion and everything starts moving faster than fast. In other words, it’s almost here. Make sure you’re ready.

PISCES Keep remembering your boundaries. There’s still plenty going on all around you, from confessions to confrontations, and it’s as important as ever to keep clear sights on where your vibes end and others begin. Getting wrapped up in anybody else’s drama this week will be taking a detour that only delays where you’re trying to go for yourself. It’s all too easy to do right now, but avoiding that trap will bring some very big rewards. Thursday is perfect for making any key moves you’ve been preparing for, and Friday works for absolutely anything creative.

Venus in Capricorn

26 November 2011

VENUS moved into CAPRICORN at 4:36 am (pacific standard time).

Venus is attraction.  It’s what we value.  Capricorn is ambition, getting ahead, doing whatever work it takes to keep up with the Jones’s.  Venus in Capricorn wants her status.

Venus has been in Sagittarius, the sign that’s all about adventure, for a short three weeks.  That gave us the taste for pushing things farther, keeping it adventurous, seeing what there was to be found.

Now that Venus is in Capricorn, people are valuing the things that truly, tangibly take things farther. That’s absolutely not a bad thing. The weather right now is all about taking inventory of what you already have, and planning ahead to optimize the future.

Venus in Capricorn definitely likes results.

Venus in Capricorn will be making an immediate Square to the planet Uranus in Capricorn on Saturday evening (6:38 pm pst)  That’s unpredictable, anything weather.  You could meet the love of your life. .. .or have a spontaneous break up that lasts for good.

Venus will also be moving on to a nice, friendly, super lucky trine with Jupiter on Sunday afternoon (1:23 pm pst).  That’s good times vibes, but also pretty lazy.  The action in Earth signs (Mars in Virgo trine Pluto in Cap) is thankfully pushing us to get our business taken care of before we start daydreaming.  But dreams there will certainly be.  Now’s when we can do the work to make them happen.

Eight days a week,

Adeline
