New Moon on Monday Astrology

Dark Side of the Moon

25 October 2011

The Dark of the Moon happens every month, just before the Moon turns new. It’s the tail end of one cycle, right before the beginning of another.  The Moon shrinks smaller and smaller in the sky, energy is low.  New things are on the horizon, but the energy won’t be there until the Moon is new.

This is a particularly intense Dark of the Moon because the New Moon is opposite Jupiter, a planet that’s all about great expectations.  Speaking of Jupiter, it’s also making the the third of three trines to Pluto in Capricorn this Friday - that’s a good omen.  It’s potent out and provocative, but… it’s the Dark of the Moon.  We can feel something big coming, but nothing will really get moving until Wednesday, when the Moon’s new again.

The Dark of the Moon is the best time for shaping your intentions for the next month to come.  This month, we can really believe in them.
